PERMATANG PAUH: Dua pekerja gudang perkakas cedera termasuk seorang melecur sehingga 70 peratus selepas premis tempat mereka bekerja terbakar dalam kejadian di Jalan Permatang Janggus, di sini, pagi tadi.

Dalam insiden pada kira-kira jam 11 pagi itu, beberapa kenderaan termasuk lori, kereta dan motosikal turut dilaporkan musnah dijilat api.
Jurucakap Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia (JBPM) Pulau Pinang, berkata seramai 41 anggota dari beberapa Balai Bomba dan Penyelamat (BBP) ke lokasi kejadian sebaik menerima panggilan kecemasan jam 11.05 pagi berhubung insiden berkenaan.
Katanya, sebaik tiba didapati kebakaran membabitkan sebuah gudang menyimpan perkakas termasuk bahan cat dengan anggaran peratusan kemusnahan 80 peratus.
“Ketika pemeriksaan dilakukan, didapati kebakaran turut memusnahkan dua lori, tiga kereta dan dua motosikal.
“Terdapat dua mangsa iaitu seorang pekerja lelaki asing warga Myanmar berusia lingkungan 50-an dan wanita warga tempatan berusia 30-an mengalami kecederaan.
“Pekerja lelaki melecur sehingga 70 peratus, manakala pekerja wanita pula cedera ringan dan mereka dihantar ke hospital berdekatan bagi menerima rawatan lanjut,” katanya dalam kenyataan, di sini, hari ini.
Katanya, anggota kemudian membuat kerja pengawalan dan pemadaman api sebelum kebakaran dapat dikawal pada jam 11.48 pagi.
“Kebakaran dapat dipadamkan sepenuhnya pada jam 1.20 tengah hari. Pasukan bomba seterusnya menjalankan kerja ‘overhaul’ bagi memastikan tiada apa-apa yang berbahaya lagi.
“Punca kebakaran dan jumlah kerugian masih dalam siasatan,” katanya yang memaklumkan operasi turut disertai Pasukan Bomba Sukarela (PBS) berdekatan.
Operasi ditamatkan sepenuhnya pada jam 6.45 petang.
